Dialogue | Scene 2 | Enter Guidance Counsellor

Still working on that animation.

I more or less completed the first sequence, I am still unsure about adding faces or not, some of the sound needs editing but overall I feel quite all right with this...

of course...

...to be continued...

Storyboard | Dialogue: Conan, Early Letterman...

I needed some distance from the CIs, so I worked further on Frank's assignment; first of all, here's a little storyboard for the first half of the animation...

for this blogversion I took all comments off it, even I could barely read them ^^

After having finished the storyboard I tried to figure out what this scene consists of. Basically, it's the background (containing playing kids), a big fat wall with a graffiti (I changed the "death"-graffiti in favor of a more graphic display) plus some detail like a tree and a graffitican. Therefor I sketched, scanned and worked them over in Photoshop.

For the background and the wall I decided to use good ol' sketchup again...

When I had all the basic parts for the scene I started assembling them. This is a pretty final shot of it:

Up next: I'll work out the main characters and try to figure out After Effects :) In the meantime I'll rip the audiofile apart so I can match the sentences to the scenes.

But before that I'll need a good night of sleep. seeya!

Rethinking in Sketchup | Corporate Identity | Julia Bauch

Going over the moodboards over and over again I found myself thinking about that constellation of observers and the crowd at the bottom of Julia's board. I started sketching and storming that little brain of mine, trying to make that condition work in my head. Julia wants to concentrate on staged photography... the word theater popped into my head and after a couple of tries I came up with this:

I started Sketchup (just to see that there have been a couple of releases since I last worked with it) and after updating everything I created a basic shape...

Then I started working on some details (in order to get in touch with Sketchup again and for further use in my assignment). I put all the important parts of the structure into groups, so I can use them seperately, too.

While working, I tried out different sun- and shadowsettings in order to get the atmosphere right. I discovered a wonderful shadowplay, which I think I am going to make use of later.

I paid quite a lot of attention to some of the scenes details, here's a look at the setting's backside...

Next I will probably try to get back to a more basic Level, trying to sum up the main elements and find a simpler, clearer way to express it in the CI. I already have something on my mind, all of this work and the pure fact of dealing with it in so many different ways (sketches, 3D-framework, moodboards and of course thinkingthinkingthinking) clearly gave me some fresh ideas.

Never surrender!

Moodboard | Corporate Identity | Julia Bauch

These is the photoshop-enhanced Version of Julia's CI's moodboard [Photography, mostly staged, partly still documentary work, no special target group, no special localization]... man that sounds familiar ^^

It's... the flying Schnipsels show!

It was our task to create a fully drag- and droppable flashanimation of our newspaperstory. I didn't like the looks of the little newspaperpieces, as they unwillingly created little white fields in the backgrounds, so I put them all in a medium gray tone and put some music underneath that makes dragging and dropping so much more fun ^^ hope little richard don't mind...

Getting started with Adobe After Effects...

These are the very very very very very very very very very very very very very very early results i achieved in after effects.

I've actually heard I have not been the first guy to play with the word Maoam. Well, who would've thought?
