Concepts | Jazzalude

Jazzalude is a quite loungy loop. I divided the sound into two main parts, the first one (a jazz tune) is repeated three times, then the second one (a break with an explosionlike sound) comes on.

After working on an abstract solution (geometric forms and lights that interact to the loop) I tried to capture the atmosphere of "Jazzalude" a bit more.

When I hear that sound, I'm in a bar, a nice clean one with a lot of colorful, warm and heavy lights. People are drinking cocktails or champagne, dance and have a splendid night.

So, back to the sketchbook...

Then I started modeling glasses and bottles

after that, I needed a couple of bodyshots, get a vector outline, place them in scene an voilá...

up next: more dancing people, the camera needs tuning, the surroundings.

lots of work ahead, and the reverse gear just won't work.

Concepts | Ferns

"Ferns" reminded me of some good ol'-fashioned movie theme. You know, the ones you hear when a wonderful, idyllic landscape is discovered for the first time and the camera takes a good look around. The slow speed and the classical touch to "Ferns" had me imagine some middleage village, thick stones and heavy wooden logs define the architecture. To have a proper set for the shots I sketched a couple of very small villages...

Then I had to figure out what such a village needs, what characteristics it should have to get as close to the atmosphere I imagined as can. A high position for overall camera shots may be provided by a watchtower, a lighthouse or something like that.

While working on these sketches and models I came to think of a very different setting, "Ferns" might go with... So I sketched a little and after a few attempts I had a look I kinda liked... It's a more futuristic setting. The buildings would have a more solid surface, something like very clean, bright plastic or polished metal...

concepts² | they take care of me...

I meshed, textured and rendered some of the stuff for this scene already. Most of the textures I made myself, here you see the stroller, the crib and an impression of the creeps.

a photographic assignment in between things;

take 36 pictures of a specific location (crossroads Koolmeesstraat/Fazantstraat +-200m) in black and white.

rearrange the pictures without customizing them to one big picture about depth and colors.

not only the result is important but each and every picture for itself as well.

i'll be right back...

I decided to design a threedimensional menu for navigational purposes. I still have to model and render the navigation buttons, but the key animation is more or less ready to go.

click in the lower right corner for first steps.

click the object on the center table for further detail )work in progress=

CI Logo | Corporate Identity | Julia Bauch

I've worked the ideas over I've had so far for Julia and did her logo in illustrator.

I've made two versions, I am working on the details now...

I created a couple of posters as well, together with a business card and letter paper...
